How to pack in boxes for moving
Most of our clients' biggest fear about the whole moving process is packing their belongings into boxes. Here's a handy guide on what to put where, so you can transport your belongings safely and unload them easily at the new location.
Paper (cardboard) boxes
Suitable for: clothes, light household accessories (curtains, drapes...), toys, DVDs, books, magazines.
Size:
- 55 x 50 x 50 cm with a load capacity of 20 kg
- 60 x 38 x 38 cm with a load capacity of 20 kg
You will usually receive empty cartons unfolded. Fold them first and make sure they fit together properly. We recommend that you tape over the joints with wide adhesive tape for safety, which we will also supply. Fill the cardboard boxes so that you can carry them without exceeding their load capacity.
Place heavier items at the bottom. Tape over the top of filled boxes. Be sure to label them with a visible label so you don't forget what's in them and so everyone knows where the boxes go when you move.
Our tip! For bulky and squishy clothes such as suits, shirts, dresses or suits, we are happy to lend you paper wardrobes with rods.
Plastic crates
Suitable for: kitchen utensils, fragile household accessories and ornaments, small electronics, folders, binders or other office equipment.
Size: We can lend you plastic moving boxes measuring 60 x 40 x 40 cm
Capacity: 30 kg
The plastic crates hold their shape by themselves. Therefore, they are also suitable for fragile items such as plates, glasses, porcelain, etc. We recommend wrapping these with bubble wrap first, which we will also supply. The plastic containers do not have a lid and are stacked during transport. Therefore, fill them so that the contents do not overhang the top of the container. Do not forget the labels again.
Plastic resealable containers
Suitable for e.g.: valuable items, important documents - loose or in binders.
Dimensions: 55 x 35 x 30 cm
Load capacity: 20 kg
You can fill the closable containers to the brim. If you are inserting loose fragile items, wrap them in advance with bubble wrap or wrapping paper, which we will also deliver to you. After filling, knock both lids together and make sure they fit well. You can also move in safe, or secure, mode in resealable boxes. In this case, stamp both sides of the sealed box with the number seals we will supply. Be sure to label the full boxes clearly and, in the case of safe mode, write down the seal numbers.
And the best bit at the end: when you move with us, we will lend you the moving boxes free of charge. We also offer a turnkey packing service for companies and larger households.
