How much does it cost to move a piano or grand piano?
Whether you're moving a smaller piano or a concert grand piano, you simply can't do it alone. So the classic dilemma comes into play. Should I ask my friends, who I'll bribe with a treat or a small reward, or is it better to turn to professionals, who I'll pay more for?
Moving a piano is not as expensive as it may seem
The price of a complete move, including quality insurance and possible disassembly and reassembly at the new location, ranges from approximately CZK 1,800 to CZK 4,000. The specific amount depends on both the weight of the instrument and the number of floors to be climbed during the move. The price of an upright or grand piano is not so low. It starts at around CZK 100,000 and ends well beyond CZK 1,000,000. Not to mention the cost of repairs in case of damage. So you should think carefully about whether the risk of moving in with friends is worth it.
Moving heavy loads doesn't pay to do it yourself
We have a lot of experience in moving folding sashes and fragile pianos. Our staff know how to move the instrument safely from place to place without damaging it, and we have all the equipment needed to do so. Even in a confined space such as a spiral staircase, we can handle the handling without any problems.
Moving heavy loads is our daily routine. We routinely move massive safes, concert pianos and workshop machines. We have modern technical equipment for this, with which we can easily move all heavy loads weighing up to 10 tons, both horizontally and vertically. For "lighter pieces" up to 1 tonne, we use a special robot that can move things up and down stairs.
How to move a piano or grand piano
- First of all, think about what you want to move, whether you will be moving furniture or electronics along with the piano or upright piano.
- We will then draw up an approximate quote based on your needs, set a suitable date and create a schedule for the work.
- On D-Day we will wrap the piano in bubble wrap. For the grand piano, we remove the legs and pedals and tilt it on its side. In the absence of stairs in the way, the implementation is easy with a special trolley, in the case of moving up the stairs the piano is handled by a heavy party.
- The loading and unloading onto the vehicle is facilitated by a hydraulic platform. During transport, the piano is fixed in a padded vehicle. At the new destination, the piano is moved in, unpacked and set up.
- Finally, you pay us for the moving services in cash or by credit card against the tax receipt. And that's it. Then you can tune up your instrument and start playing.
