How to dispose of old furniture
1. Buying old furniture or selling it online
If you have enough time, try taking photos of the furniture and sending them out over the internet to a few contacts who buy old furniture. Most people are interested in solid wood pieces and antiques in general, ideally whole sets like dining rooms or bedrooms. Surface defects caused by use usually do not bother the buyers. They will fight over nice pieces and offer you several hundred to a thousand crowns for them. On the other hand, they are not interested in ordinary furniture made of pressed plywood and wood infested with pests.
If you are turned down at a buyout, don't despair - your furniture can still make you very happy. Try offering it on servers like bazos.cz for a nominal price or just for collection, or try using auction portals like aukro.cz. There the price is determined by the buyers themselves. When you find a buyer, leave the transport to us.
2. Docking the container
If you're getting rid of a lot of old junk that can't be helped by renovation, it's best to have a household waste container delivered. If you're getting rid of pure wood, some companies will even offer you a better price. You will pay around CZK 2,500 for a 5 m3 container. If you have different types of waste, expect a price about 500-1000 CZK higher. It is definitely worth comparing offers from different companies.
3. Collection to a collection yard
It is usually free of charge if you take your furniture to your place of residence with your ID card. Otherwise, it is up to the discretion of the specific collection yard whether they will take it from you for a fee. However, you can pay several hundred for the disposal of an old sofa. Similarly, beware of oil-painted wood, etc. You will pay extra for that too. Find out what other household waste you can take to the collection yard free of charge.
4. Ecological disposal
If you want to be sure that your old furniture will not put any strain on the environment, which we will prove with the appropriate certificate, contact us and we will be happy to arrange ecological disposal for you, including removal. One piece of furniture will cost on average 50 CZK.
If your furniture can no longer be used anywhere, dispose of it in one of the following legal ways. If you burn painted wood at home, you can be fined up to CZK 50,000 and sued by your neighbour.
